He winds up with his awful backswing and I’m just waiting for his elbow to snap in half. And when I say waiting, I mean praying. I’m two down with three to go against Mort Sherman and I can't hit a straight shot. Unless something magical happens, I will lose ten bucks to Mort and wear the shame that goes along with it.

The dream always starts somewhere.

For us, it was the idea that golf in America could be better. We could create a new option for the committed golfer, where they live and work, between joining an expensive private club and the often risky roulette of public golf.

Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Chapter Summit in Atlanta or Chicago! This year we could not have awarded our club’s highest honor to two more deserving people: Thomas McCartney and Ryan Smyth.

Golf, like life, is about redemption. No rounds or lives go perfectly. They all have their good and not-so-good moments.

The good news: In life, unlike golf, we don’t have to be alone to figure things out. Sometimes, people show up to help and they make it all worth the journey.

If we had a “Spirit Animal” here at NewClub, The Pollinator would be it. But when it comes to our environments, the golf courses we are fortunate to play and visit are the living, breathing, creatures that help us tell our story.

I still remember the phone call like it was yesterday, unfortunately, it wasn’t yesterday – it was almost two

years ago. It’s hard to bring words to paper that explain what the last 24 months have been like for

NewClub, the chapter here in Atlanta, and myself. If you’ll allow me, I’ll do my best to wrap it up in a few

lasting memories and then leave you with a departing thought…
