Titleist Partnership

This week, we are proud to announce the start of a new partnership with Titleist.

The name needs no introduction—a true icon in our sport.

We all have our own personal relationships with the equipment we’ve used. I think that’s why there are so many garages worldwide littered with old sets of clubs.

Walking by them regularly is like walking by a past version of ourselves. They become an extension of who we are, and it’s difficult to say farewell.

I had one of those garages growing up. Between the five of us in our home plus the six or seven uncles nearby who ran out of space, we had at least 37 sets in that back garage. It was a sight.

Living in downtown Chicago for 15 years didn’t stop the tradition. In our tiny apartment, I had a minimum of four sets at any time, you know, just in case.

Titleist has been a fixture in every set I’ve ever hard, sometimes the whole Shabang, other times just a driver or a wedge, yet Titleist is a part of my golfing memories, same as the course I’ve been fortunate to play, and the people I’ve been blessed to play alongside.

My brother was a collegiate golfer, and part of the deal was the gear from Titleist. He would hand me down his scuffed-up Balata 100s and worn-down Vokey wedges.

I’d mess around with both in our backyard. They made the best sound with a full flop shot, no click, just the silent hum of every retired groove grabbing that pillowy soft cover. Euphoric.

High school was highlighted by the 975D and 975J, two of the straightest clubs I will ever own. Any fashion-forward golfer of that decade will recall your loyalty to Titleist was not complete until accentuated by flipping those head covers inside out, revealing the multi-colored shag hiding inside.

Titleist was a part of my dark days as well. College golf took an ugly turn for me. My self-worth was reduced to an outcome and a score. I cared about what others thought or would think of my game instead of how the game made me feel. I lost the joy in it, and I ran away from both golf and my equipment as fast as I could. Years later, I realized I was among many who felt the same. Taglines like “serious clubs for serious golfers” didn’t help the epidemic.

I’m grateful for those times now. Talking with thousands of golfers these last few years, including alot of the friends we’ve now made at Titleist has helped me realize in golf, you’re not alone.

Luckily, the game and some new equipment would find me, this time where I was hiding, in dreary South West Ireland. A gent named Graeme showed up at my flat with an old set of Titleist DCI 990s and a Scotty Cameron Newport II. I can still see the ropey little eight iron I hit to 3 feet on the last hole of my first international match. I was hooked again. Golf-minded and joyful.

It’s an honor for our club to be in partnership with Titleist. They share our values and understand that equipment isn’t just about helping us perform our best but connecting to our best selves, and finding a deeper, more enjoyable, and lasting form of golf.

They appreciate our reverence for tradition and history while sharing our desire for change, innovation, and progress.

Titleist is a great fit. One we are honored they see in us as well.

The partnership will begin with an exceptional treat for our members. Specifically, those of you competing in our annual season-long team Stableford competition, The Quest for the Crown.

This Year, The winning team will not just be taking home the cherished Pollinator’s Crown, but each team member will be getting fit by certified Team Titleist fitters for a complete set of the new Titleist T-series Irons.

In the months ahead, we will have more exciting announcements from Titleist, including personal fitting sessions for members, promotions, and opportunities to try out new gear at our upcoming events.
